Bio/Contact

​

Lou Albano is a Filipino writer and editor. She is a member of the Oxford Climate Journalism Network and a fellow of the 2022 Executive Leader Program of the Asian-American Journalists Association.​Currently a managing editor at GMA News Online, she handles the lifestyle verticals of the website and oversees the climate reportage of the digital news group.​

 

Lou produces special multimedia content and long-form pieces, on top of managing daily lifestyle operations. She ensures healthy numbers for the website, and maintains synergy among different departments.​

 

She is proud to have created Generation Restoration, a digital video documentary series that looks at climate + environment issues with proactive approach.  

 

​​Before joining GMA, Lou was an online editor at Manila Bulletin, where she also contributed to the paper writing about big data and health, gender and religion. She also worked at Coconuts Media, digital-only startup in Asia, where she covered Metro Manila extensively. Lou started her career in journalism at Summit Media, where she rose the ranks at controversial lad magazine FHM, writing about social issues like drug abuse and violence against women all white writing about the fun stuff too.
